The London 2012 Olympic road cycling time trials have the historic backdrop of a grand palace built in the 16th and 17th centuries. Architecturally rich inside and out, this Tudor and Baroque estate was rebuilt starting in 1689 by Christopher Wren. More recently on this site, "architecture critic" and Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, shared his views about architects:
"To be concerned about the way people live; about the environment they inhabit and the kind of community that is created by that environment should surely be one of the prime requirements of a really good architect."
