IM Peis Birthday

Suzhou Museum, ChinaBorn on April 26, 1917 in Canton, China, modernist architect Ieoh Ming Pei remains a living example of collaboration and cooperation in the competitive profession of architecture and design. When Pei was awarded the Pritzker Prize in 1983, the jury cited his "tact and patience" as qualities that "draw together peoples of disparate interests and disciplines to create a harmonious environment."

Take a tour of Pei's 1973 museum on the campus of Cornell University. The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art will give you an idea of this architect's best work.
