The First Woman

Who was the first woman to earn an architecture degree in the U.S.?

Our friends at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) say the answer is Mary L. Page, who earned an architecture degree in 1873 from UIUC. However, Cornell University claims that Margaret Hicks (B.Arch. 1880) was "the first woman to graduate from an architecture course at an American university." Perhaps we simply celebrate the accomplishments of both women!
